It comes with the right length screws for the application.

Matches my 1999 Chevy Silverado perfectly. The correct length screws were included. He's great at starting the truck. My original starter was rebuilt but only lasted 5 years. So if it lasts that long, it's a good deal.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Now I know: Parts

Said it fits my truck so I went ahead and bought it, should have checked my starter motor first because I had no idea what they had. They have long screws and short screws and two long bolts so I had to send this one back, now I know. However, it looked like a good product, very clean and had some weight. Didn't feel cheap or anything at all

It lives! It lives!

My starter has one long and one short screw version and is perfect to replace my starter even though it is a two long screw version. I have a '99 Silverado 5.3L so I was worried it wouldn't fit. It's a little tricky to take out the old starter and put this in, but it works. They even back you up with a long bolt just for my situation. Hooray!

  • Easy to install

It worked! good for beginners and parts

Just finished my first car overhaul and replaced this one. I diagnosed it myself via the internet and found out via YouTube. A solid 5 hours of swearing, drinking and yelling later it works and it solved my problem. It should have taken about 30 minutes but the beer and lack of an elevator made it difficult. As well as well-placed vacuum lines. The only reason I will take the sprocket off is that it comes with one bolt instead of the advertised 2. I only used one of my old screws but I'm really

  • Easy to read control panel

  • Some nuances

Perfect fit for a 1999 GMC Sierra 4x4 SLT

I inherited my '99 GMC Sierra from my grandfather and while he's a great man with great stories it doesn't require much maintenance. This is just one of many items ordered to take care of my new old truck. Great product and perfect fit. This replacement starter came with a longer bolt that is used on the side closest to the gearbox/oil pan. This is a new style that fits better than the old one that was removed. I used a heat shield from an OEM starter as it wasn't included. Ignore the huge…

Good quality starters.

Purchased for my 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 NBS Truck with 4.8L Vortec engine. My truck did 192,000 miles and my original starter motor finally died. It's a newer type of starter that GM later put on trucks and the like, but works the same way. It is actually slightly smaller than my original starter and comes with a long bolt to replace my starter which has a long bolt and a short bolt. This starter is much easier to install than the original starter with a larger short screw. In addition, if…
