SO easy, so economical

Not being a mechanic or a wealthy person my 9 year old can do his annual cabin filter service himself. Saves me a decent amount of money so I can do it myself. Don't even think about paying someone else to do something as simple as changing a cabin air filter unless you're willing to donate some free cash to your mechanic.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Almost everything included

Fits my 2007 Honda Fit Sport

Very easy filter change. Empty the glove box, slide the sides towards the center of the globe and it should slide out and down. Pull out the filter trolley. Pay attention to which direction the current air filter is in the slide, the air flow is downwards. Replace the filter, reinstall the slide, slide the glove box back in and it should snap into place. It takes less than a minute, but my dealer charges $40 for it. This filter is a bit more flexible than the previous one, but fits better.

  • Complete kit

A bit pricey but does the job.

The price seems a bit high for what you get. Pretty easy installation on our Honda Fit. You need to empty the glove box. Push the tabs inward while lowering the door and accessing the cabin air filter. Then take the tabs on the filter housing. Pull out the old filter and insert the new filter. Then replace the glove box door and place the items back in the glove box. The second time it's about a 5 minute job. Figuring out how to get the glove box door to swing out of the way can be a little…

Fits my fit perfectly

I got tired of being hounded every time I went to the dealer to replace a $65 cabin air filter, so I bought one of these. with cars. I don't even know where the headlight fluid goes. This was so easy to set up. You open the glove box, squeeze the sides, the glove box falls down and the cabin filter is right there in the bracket. All you have to do is pull out the old one, no tools required, and insert the new one. Just make sure the arrow is pointing in the same direction as the one you took…

07 Fit Sport: much improved air conditioning

I have a 2007 Honda Fit Sport which I believe has an old cabin filter when I bought it in mid 2007. For a while I thought I needed to fix the air conditioner or check the freon. Then I read blogs and car service websites about the need to replace the cabin air filter. I bought it from Revain.com and not only did it fit my 07 Fit Sport perfectly, but the difference in coolness was so significant that even my boyfriend noticed it without my knowledge. We used to have to switch the fan speed to #2

Dealers for less than $70!

One cannot help but conclude that replacing the cabin air filter is just another sneaky attempt to get more aftersales dollars for a car company. It does filter pollen from outside, but the fact of the matter is that the filter (OEM or non-genuine) is pretty weak, even compared to cheap domestic stove air filters. My final secondary filter had a small crease that left a gap where another commenter noted that most of the air was able to flow through the filter using the path of least resistance.

Fast, easy and effective

Depending on the car, I hate cabin filters. Some are so buried in the dash that it's just a chore to pull out all sorts of bits before you can get to the body. The Honda Fit isn't like that, it's just a matter of compression and a few clamps. However, I can see that this job is intimidating, so it was nice to see the visual instructions that came with this filter, including the correct installation direction. The filter itself is great, good workmanship, fits perfectly, no complaints. I expect…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
