Tyger Auto TG TR8J84078 Compatible 2007 2018 Review

Great product! We have stairs of this brand. Powder coating is beautiful! It holds our 35x1250 tire well. The only thing I would wish is that there is room for two rubber bumpers so there isn't just one tire abutting them.

I fitted this strap to my jeep and while it was really easy to put on I don't think it has the strength I was looking for. When I open the tailgate it sags about a half or 3/4 of an inch and I have to slam it shut to align and close properly. It's a great hinge, but I don't know if it's strong enough to hold a 26 x 14.33 inch tire that weighs about 142 pounds.

Sturdy tire holder and hinges to support my 33" Nitto. Installation wasn't difficult, just take your time and follow the instructions. The worst part was reinstalling the factory tire mount into the new mount as the bolt spacing is tight. We turned to this carrier to eliminate heavy tire noise on the factory mount and prevent damage to the tailgate.

The eternal debate about which HD carrier to buy. I'm glad I decided to try Tiger. Absolutely fixed my sagging tailgate due to the heavier tire and also raised it a bit from the bumper. Attaching a standard tire mount to this carrier is a little tricky. If you plan on going this route, I suggest bolting the stock tire holder onto the Tyger block before installing the Tyger to the tailgate. I mounted a basket on a tire and the tire, basket and contents didn't look or feel like they would stay in place all the time. It supports the tire, basket, 60-inch Hi-Lift jack and tailgate, not the tailgate that does the hard work. One of the main reasons I got this is because the cart I have is exactly the same as this one. Without the basket installed, the new LT285/70-17 spare worked fine.
