Not quite aluminum case

I have a powerful 2.5 inch drive that heats up a bit under full load. So I needed a case with good heat dissipation properties. I bought this because it looks like an aluminum case, but the pictures appear to be an aluminum case. Anyway, it's not what I thought. The aluminum part is only on the top cover and it looks more like leather. Cost so I removed some plastic from the top case (it was 1.4mm thick solid plastic) and used it anyway. The design is pleasant. Opens and closes with no frills…

Won't work with my PS5

I bought this case for my essential 2TB SSD to store PS4 games so I can play them on my PS5 without taking up space on my internal PS5 drive to prove. Downloading them from my PS4 was easy. When I connected the drive to my PS5 it was not recognized. I took the drive out of the case and used a SATA to USB 3 adapter and the drive showed up on my PS5. I tried unplugging the included USB cable to see if it was the culprit, but it didn't matter which cable I used, the drive in the case didn't work…

Great as external storage for PS5

I needed an external drive for my PS4 library so I could play the games I still wanted to play without the terrible internal storage of the internal PS5 -Storage (Really Sony? 500GB, like PS4 when it was released? 750GB - 1TB would be more reasonable!). PS4 has SATA 3Gb/s and PS4 Pro has SATA 6Gb/s for the drive's internal interface, so an SSD makes more sense than a high-speed HDD to slow down the download speed. Paired with a 2 TB Western Digital Blue SSD, everything has been running smoothly

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • sad packaging

Rosewill 4-Port PCI-E to USB 3.0 Hub Controller Adapter (purchased from Revain) Hard Drive: 2.5" Seagate FireCuda 2TB SSD Hybrid Drive (purchased from Revain) File Copy Size: 5.5GB WindowsImageBackup. Not all aluminum case

I have a powerful 2.5 inch drive that gets a little warm under maximum usage. So I needed a case with good heat dissipation properties. I bought it because it looks like an aluminum case, but the pictures appear to be an aluminum case. Anyway, it's not what I thought. The aluminum part is only on the top cover and it looks more like leather. the inside of the case is made entirely of plastic. I shouldn't have gone through the return process, so I ended up removing some of the plastic on the top

I had a problem with that.

I bought two of these but have only used one so far. I had to boot into G-Parted to delete some partitions and erase the SSD installed there. This worked great, but when I booted into Windows I couldn't see the drive in Windows Explorer (or whatever it's called in Win 10). When I opened Disk Management I saw the drive but couldn't assign a drive letter to it or format it from Windows so I tried again in G-Parted thinking I'd missed something. Not me. The same thing happened. Then I tried one of

Quiet and durable for computer accessories and peripherals

I'm using this on a pawnshop laptop that came without a hard drive (found out none of the pawnshop computers have one, hence the prices are so low) but, more importantly, it didn't have a hard drive storage basket when I bought it. Searching for a suitable container yielded vague results, and I was on the verge of finding a way to connect my hard drive to the computer in some other, less reliable way. Luckily, I stumbled upon a revelation about external hard drives. It took some more research…
