This HDMI capture box is different in that it also includes SDI. SDI is a professional digital video output and input standard that offers the ability to route video over a simpler coaxial cable. I used this as a replacement for my other capture block. The main reason is that this newer device doesn't need to install drivers or other software to work. The video stream seems to stop after about 12 minutes. Easy setup, automatic frame rate detection, and support for a wide range of frame rates. If I can fix the problem I will upgrade to 5 stars. Used with my Canon video conferencing/webcast camera.

I bought two of these to start live broadcasts. Camera 1 was a Canon C100 MK2 and Camera 2 was a PTZ Optics camera. After a few minutes, the image becomes distorted. Sometimes the resolution changes and jumps back. One unit was returned within the first week of use due to this issue and a second unit a month later due to the same issue. If you use SDI I would stay away from it.
