🧵 U.S HA Gasket Rope Kit, 1/2" x 6" by UNITED STATES HDW Review

This gasket rope doesn't belong in automotive use. Install with ease on a backyard BBQ grill, but definitely not on a car.

I gave 3 stars even though I thought it fell off. I put it on my smoker after using the steam cleaner and stripped it down to the bare metal. Then I wiped it off with alcohol wipes. He lasted 5 cooks before breaking loose. I'm not sure about the glue. I think this would work well on an oven door, but not on a smoker lid that rubs when closed.

This item is as expected with no surprises. I ended up with more than enough glue to get the job done (about twice the amount I needed, which is always nice) and *enough* rope to run with. One end of the gasket did not root well and came loose from the wood stove door after a few weeks. Luckily there is more glue in the kit than you need so I reapplied the glue to the loose area and it has held up well ever since.
