Missing the chain! - my new review

Take a Saturday to install the new garage door opener and I get everything together. Remove the old one and start assembling the new one. Get to adding the chain and I open the extension and there isn’t a chain included as it should be! Now I have to wait for the chain!

Does the job in my review

This is the second of these garage door openers I’ve installed. I have a two car garage with two separate doors. 8 foot doors mind you. They both work great and we’re easy to install. I did need to get the extension for each.

A must have for 8 foot tall doors

Make sure you order this part before starting the installation for your opener. A must have for an eight foot high door. This replaces one of the parts in the opener package.

You need this for 8' doors (height)

This just slides onto the Genie chain drive assembly, add the chain links to chain to convert opener from 7ft. (height) door to an 8' door. Easy instructions, takes about 10 minutes. I love chain drive openers, they are much stronger, much smoother and just as quiet as worm drive openers.

This thing works great at extending a 7 foot garage door opener track into an 8 foot garage door opener track. Definitely read the instructions for the extension before assembling the primary garage door opener. Will save you time

Time for a new garage door opener

20 years is a decent amount of time for a garage door opener to last, and as soon as we realized we needed a new 1, we knew we’d buy Genie brand. Genie is known for quality, long lasting products.

MISSING PARTS! good for me

Did not come with the chain extension, so I was not able to use the product. Will not purchase from anymore in future. Thanks for attention.

Not sure why Genie could not provide with original purchased item. Price paid included extension chain and replacement rail section, that is all!

Overall Good Product

Product did exactly what is was supposed to, making the opener work for an 8ft door. The chain extension did not come with a master link which caused for an extra trip to the hardware store, which was a little frustrating.

This was required because of my door size. If fit the Genie perfactly and solved what would have been a major problem. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

Garage door opener - my new review

It's ok. Flimsy compared to what I previously had. It was a few inches shorter so we had to order and extension. After that came we put it together and it runs great do far.

Genie GEN39027R Door Opener Extension Kit

This is a must have item when installing a Genie Garage Door Opener for an 8 foot high garage door. The extension rail replaces the 1 foot section of rail that attaches to the garage door header bracket. Adding the chain extension required only a few minutes to remove the master link on the regular chain and insert the 2 foot extension chain. I appreciated the fact that Genie replaced the short end section, rather than inserting another 1 foot rail section. This provides a more rigid rail…

Inexpensive and flawless

Needed this because we have an eight foot garage door. We have the Genie 7035 opener, which replaced a 17 year old Chamberlain model. It worked flawlessly.
