This item is Claw Hammer Handles - 14" supreme adze eye-20-oz. claw hammer. Used for Handtools & Tool Organizers, Hammers. The product is manufactured in United States.
I do not recommend buying this product. After installing the handle I started removing the labels and there was a decent sized tear under the largest label on one piece. Not at all happy with it. Now I'm stuck with it.
The grip looks and feels good but doesn't appear to have the best quality control as there is a fair amount of material missing from the 'head' end of the grip, no signs of wood cutting into the grip in the package, so this should be done before it has been packed. It's up to you to decide if it's worth the risk.
It was a pretty good grip, I was disappointed that it wasn't just heartwood, it was 50% sapwood and 50% heartwood, the grain was aligned in the right direction so the grip wasn't on impact has a paint finish? Fits perfectly with my old 40 year old PermaBond Hammer. Now I have a long handled 16 ounce hammer again.
My old Vaughn hammer that my dad left behind broke the handle neck. I liked the old thing and the memories it brings back. This new grip had to be shaved a bit to fit the head. Installation was easy using a smaller hammer to drive in a wooden wedge and metal wedges. Now it looks fun with a new handle but an old rusty head.
Long story my dad went through and I got his hammer he used on the farm. I saw that he needed a new pen and bought this one. Followed the instructions, the hammer looked great! I used it when building a fence. I tried to pull the mandrel out of the 4X4 and the handle broke right at the hammer head. The first time I had to buy a different pen. Looks good but was not durable in any way.
handle worked great. There are many videos on YouTube showing how to use a hammer. Just a word of caution, measure your hammer head carefully then make sure you order the correct one. However, I got a ball point hammer handle when I ordered a claw hammer handle. The carrier did this immediately as soon as I contacted him. would definitely buy from them again.
The tool box in my work cart had my Vaughn finishing hammer head with a broken handle among the other tools, nice and rusty. I don't know how this came about, but Revane had this pen, so I started a quick project. No.1 to polish the rusty head with rouge on the buffing wheel. Looks used but very nice. #2 Install a grip that fits perfectly. I now have a nice shiny hammer hanging in my workshop and I replaced it in my work truck with a less expensive hammer so the next guy would break it.
While cleaning out the basement I found an old hammer head that is still in great shape. install a new handle. As I understood it, it was easier said than done. I've searched all hardware stores to no avail. I came here and found this American ballpoint pen with all the seals that came with it. I installed it per the instructions (I added some wood glue to the wood spacer) and am thrilled with my "new" hammer. It is very comfortable and has a very good length. Thanks Vaughan
I had an old rusty 16 oz 11-436 soldering hammer with a cracked wooden handle. It has been in the family for many years. It was a pity to throw it away. I've watched several YouTube videos on restoring old hammers. Then I looked at this product. I was inspired. I carved an old cracked handle. I hand sanded the hammer head until all rust was gone. I carefully filed the edge of the new Vaughan grip, tapped the new grip with a second hammer, installed the wood spacer, hammered in the wood spacerโฆ
