Update 2: Virtiv Support has confirmed that the MacBook Pro display activation issue detailed below is a known firmware issue with this switch. I was told they will replace your switch with an updated one. Unfortunately, Revain seems to stock this item as well as a dual display version with this issue. Since it's literally the only DisplayPort KVM that even works remotely with a MacBook Pro, I'd imagine it's worth it if you fall into that category. (I haven't gotten mine back yet, but I'llโ€ฆ

This item is not cost effective and lacks functionality.

Because this device supports a 30Hz refresh rate, it's not a very useful refresh rate for modern displays. My advice is don't mess with this device. A few people have reported that this device works on their higher refresh rate displays, but I tried several different cables and reviews to see if it would and wouldn't work. For the 4-port version, you pay around $800 per device. it will: - not support 100Hz. - remove the protocol your keyboard may have, such as B. the support of media keys. Iโ€ฆ

Good 4K @ 60Hz DisplayPort KVM but could be better

Good news first: Avocent SV340D switches my Dell UP2718Q and old 1920 x 1200 display to full resolution. For Dell, that's 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz with HDR - awesome! It also switches stereo and USB3. It uses standard cables instead of expensive proprietary cables, although the switch itself isn't cheap. I bought it to replace IOGEAR DisplayPort 4-Port KVMP because I wanted to swap two monitors. I have mixed feelings about the replacement - the IOGear seems more modern and works better for me in some

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Excellent Video and Keyboard KVM

I recently replaced my previous monitor with a Dell 2716dg but my VGA based KVM at the time did not work with this monitor as Dell did not have a VGA input. The first solution I tried was using a VGA to HDMI converter. Although it worked, I wouldn't recommend it. Text was not clear, resolution was limited to 1920 x 1080, image stability was not very good at times. Sometimes the vertical elements on the display appeared wavy and I suspect this was due to the transducer heating up as it was quite

Pretty cute with some features.

Overall this is a pretty good KVM. It's seriously heavy and has a very annoyingly bright blue LED strip on the front. Nothing is included in the kit except the power cord, so be sure to purchase multiple cords. Expensive. Luckily it doesn't use special cables like other KVMs I've had in the past. You will need a set of DisplayPort cables (more on that below), USB 2.0 A/B cables (for keyboard/mouse), USB 3.0 A/B cables (for front USB 3.0 hub), and two additional cables. 3.5mm audio cable setsโ€ฆ

KVM with support for 4K UHDTV at 30Hz RGB or 60Hz Y'CbCr 4:2:0

This is a solidly mounted KVM switch in a metal case (the front panel is plastic). The switching time is about 1 second at the same resolution and about 2 seconds from (2K) HDTV to 4K UHDTV and back, perhaps with a part that is not due to KVM but because my screen is redefining resolution. While the specification says 4K UHDTV (3480 x 2160) at 30 fps (works up to 8-bit RGB without restriction), previous reviews vaguely suggested the possibility of 60 fps, which actually works - with the caveatโ€ฆ
