Order one size larger! Keep your feet warm!

These models must be ordered one size larger! The best way to determine your size is to measure your foot by standing on a ruler on the wall. Then find out what your European size is. Do not rely on US sizes, always order EU sizes. I am US size 8 and EU size 39 fits perfectly. (I ordered a size 40 to increase the size) I wear socks with them though and they really keep your feet warm. I walked in it all day and never slipped. Everyone asked me about it and praised me. Of course they look…

especially for the big toe. The rest of the fingers only go halfway.

Due to the insulation, the finger holes are a little narrow and short, especially for the thumb. The rest of the fingers go about halfway into the "slots" so I don't think buying a larger size would be a solution. What I've noticed in my five-finger "collection" is that models with a less resilient thumb guard seem to make the diameter of this groove too short and narrow. These shoes are warmer than my others and go above the ankle. I know I'll end up with a big toe seal, but I'm sure it would…

Only the hair is bigger on the big toe please

I usually wear a size 41 but all my vibrams are a bit small on the big toe. Just adding 1/8" or even 1/16" on the thumb in ALL styles would be a big improvement. I'm sure I can't be the only one who thinks this way. I used to be one size too big (42) too big and men's size (41) often too big. In this particular style (Vibram Trek Ascent Insulated) I like the shoe but I don't like that it has laces instead of bunji or velcro closures and I don't like that it doesn't have a pull tab to make it…

Little left finger is very shaky

I couldn't wait to get them as the weather is already getting chilly. I was nervous about buying them based on the feedback on the sizing and how difficult it was to put them on. I decided it was worth giving them a try when I saw the price drop. I went up one size as recommended, normally I wear size EU 39, so I bought size EU 40. I had no problem putting them on, but one shoe has a serious blemish on the pinky toe of my left foot. There seems to be something that is causing this finger to…

It feels like I'm wearing slippers on the street!

Hard to hit little fingers. I had to over-stuff them to loosen them up for the first two weeks before each use. I ordered a size up (ordered a size 42, usual size 40-41) and the shoe fits perfectly in width and fit, however the toes are too long and I have a lot of room at the end of the toes. . Shoes are warm, but not winter. Don't try to use them like snowshoes. They are not waterproof and I have found that my toes get wet and pick up water at the seams and where the fabric meets the rubber…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

For sizing reference, I also wear the KMD LS Cross Training in a size 38 and I bought the Trek Ascent in a size 39. Although they were uncomfortable right out of the box when I made a few simple adjustments, they were excellent. With a wool insole I can run in clear weather and my feet stay perfectly warm and dry. They have much better traction than the regular running shoes I used to wear and now I can walk snowy sidewalks with confidence (although I'm still wary of ice). A few extra tips for…

They're ok but the design and quality control could be better

UPDATE: I was hoping that after wearing them a lot they would be easier to put on. Unfortunately it isn't. I still spend five minutes putting on ONE shoe, let alone two! For this reason I downgraded my rating to 2/5 stars. TONGUE ON HEEL IS REQUIRED. Since these are the first isolated five fingers I've seen, I was dying to try them. Overall I'm happy with them, with the exception of two issues that some people might consider minor; They are not problematic enough for me to return the shoes…
