it's not worth it for humidifier parts and accessories

I bought this in 2019 and it worked fine for the first year, but now it's giving low readings compared to other units I have, and even placing it alongside the humidifier does nothing, I assume new batteries in it and still the same. Don't waste your money on this device. I now regret buying it. Example: Another device tells me the humidity is 45%, it says it's 29% and there's no better way to read it. To be honest I've seen other devices that read better for less money so don't waste yours on…

My Vic's moisture monitor broke after a few months

Small, large letters, easy to read. Gave humidity and temperature readings, but the humidity readings dropped after just a few months of purchase, about a year ago. It was pretty cheap so I didn't think it was worth the time getting a refund. That's a shame because I have hardwood floors and I got it to make sure the humidity was right for my floor. Hardwoods are sensitive to these values. I wish the temp gauge would break sooner than the humidity gauge, then I could still use it.

Exactly what I needed!

My apartment has its own heating/air conditioning system, but the heating system does not include humidification. I have a Vornado humidifier to deal with possible dryness, but I can't tell exactly how high the level was or if it covered the room where the humidifier was not installed. My thermostat tells me my temperature, and that reading matches what the thermostat says, so I know it's accurate. Now that "humidity season" is upon us, I can be sure that my humidity levels are healthy. It's…

Branch 2 - both lasted less than 5 months

Bought 2 - love the fact that the thermostat has a sensor that determines what humidity level is best for normal breathing and cough/cold - sadly none have the last held for 5 months. I wish I had 2 simpler versions that I bought at the same time as these - they've held up. I could google my own comfortable humidity level for using humidifiers in kids' rooms. They are located on a dresser in both bedrooms - both started failing when turned off and I had to push them to turn them back on. One…

Not sure about temperature accuracy

The humidity reading seems accurate - at least I assume the readings update fairly quickly as I move the monitor from room to room. I'm not exactly sure about the accuracy of the thermometer. Temperature readings tend to be very close to our home thermometer readings, but I tried testing the monitor by taking it outside and the readings changed little. According to my phone it was 53 degrees outside but even after a few minutes outside the monitor reading dropped to 64 degrees. I sent back the…

Not sure if this is correct.

There is not much to rate. It measures relative humidity and temperature. Below is a nice chart showing optimal humidity and the effects of too high or too low humidity. I'm not sure if that's correct. Since purchasing a dehumidifier with a temperature sensor, its measurement is usually very different from that of a dehumidifier. Currently my dehumidifier reads 41% RH and the Vicks Health Check Monitor reads 48% RH. and may turn on devices when the Vicks Health Check Monitor tells you that you…

Great mold monitors!

We bought 4 of these to track down a long term mold problem on our floor registers that required cleaning, replacement, repair and air duct resizing. Taken together, their readings aren't identical, but instead cover a range of around 5 percent, which is fine with us. We have 2900 square meters. ft., 3BR, 4BR, heat pump and three propane heat sources for backup in case of power outage. We have had monitors for 2 months as we move into spring. We spread and moved them widely, noting that the…

"Best Seller #1 " is a waste of money

I bought this to put in my little one's room - I keep turning off the ventilation in his room because he is too hot or too is cold. Right out of the box it didn't work properly - showed 78 degrees (impossible in zero weather, my old house with drafts and a worn out stove) at 15% humidity. He sat next to his humidifier all night not moving at 15% or 78 degrees. I put it on the edge of the tub in the shower, still 15/78. Stand outside in the snow, 15/78. (Yes I took the plastic face sticker) I…
