Description of 🖌️ da Vinci Casaneo Watercolor Brushes in Black

Casaneo features a new "wavy" fiber developed by da Vinci that allows for high color absorption and a soft feel while still coming to a perfect point or edge. A new breakthrough in synthetic brushmaking. A favorite of the Urban Sketching movement. Travel case with brushes is excellent for taking outside or traveling to other locations or in your home studio!. Excellent for watercolor, gouache, acrylic, silk painting, calligraphy and ink.

Good value for money. for painting, coloring and art supplies

First of all, these Da Vinci 1503 series brushes are really high quality brushes. In addition to convenience, the detachable handle can protect hair during storage/transportation. For this set, #10 alone is $72 from the best price provider I can find online. When purchased individually, the entire kit can cost $116 (best online price I can find) not including the storage box.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • A little repairability

Slightly disappointed

To be honest I'm not that happy with these brushes. They seem like a good deal. A #10 alone at that price should be knockout value. Unfortunately, these brushes do not seem to me to meet the same quality standards as regular da Vinci brushes. I'm quite surprised by this. I've had them for a long time. The brushes detach and do not reach the sharp tip. They don't seem to behave like a sable brush should. Are they seconds or marriage? I do not recommend.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Not automatic

There's no point, there is no spring, it's not worth it!

I ordered these brushes a while back when I was starting to paint and was disappointed because they didn't paint like everyone said they did. At the time I didn't know what a good watercolor brush was, but now I can say with confidence that it's a terrible brush. I wouldn't pay $10 for this set. Neither of them ever grabbed the tip, even when it was wet and in the right shape. This is particularly disappointing as they will keep every other shape imaginable. Try a brush stroke? Because they…

I love them, they work great!

I've never owned real sable brushes, but you can't beat their price and convenience for travel painting. Love it. They hold water surprisingly well and have a good tip. The size selection is large. I make sure to dry at home after use because I'm in a humid climate that molds easily and the air hole in the lid isn't very big so I play it safe, sorry! Edit a few months later: ok my love has faded. Unfortunately, after a little watercolor use, the smallest brush is no longer suitable. I'm very…

I have a size 4-1503 Kolinsky (Daniel Smith trademark) that is probably over 15 years old and still going strong. It has been part of my sketch and watercolor box for many years. It was always one of my favorite little laps, road or not. Last year I added the da Vinci 6 and 8 series 1503 travel brushes and the 1573 series da Vinci 10 travel brushes to my growing watercolor set. Back then, I couldn't justify about $100 for a size 10 1503 Sable, and the Cosmotop synthetic material, while pretty…

I have many high quality long handled brushes for studio use

I have many high quality long handled brushes for studio use, I have not had to order travel art brushes yet and have not had short handles. Brushes in my collection of professional art supplies, so I ordered this (3) travel brush set. I was actually planning on ordering a few sets from this range separately, but stumbled across this travel set of three brushes. Got my order in the mail and I've inspected the brushes and everything looks great, I'm sure they'll paint great! Haven't used them…

Pros
  • Round brush

  • Unbelievable price

Great buy of really good travel brushes

This set is a great discount on really good travel brushes. The working end of the brushes is beautiful - they look good and carry a lot of colour. They go very well with my Winsor & Newton Series 7 studio brushes. Generally the dots are a bit smaller than comparable size W&N brushes - this size 10 is about my W&N size 9, the DV 6 size is about like how my WN 5 and DV 4 is similar to my WN 2 - but the tips are similar in length, while the smaller W&N Kolinsky Sable brushes (Artist's Water Color

Don't Hold a Point Brush

I'm SO disappointed in these brushes. I had very high hopes for them as they are from Da Vinci and everyone raves about how good their brushes are, so I went with this travel set. I was so excited when I got them because they were very round and made a fantastic point, but after dissolving the binder on them I knew something was wrong. All 3 brushes don't fit at all. I tried shaping them with my fingers after getting them wet but it only took 2 seconds and I even washed them with brush cleaner…
