See photo for scale

I wasn't sure how big the set of five bowls would be but I like the range. See photo. The photo shows the largest (5 qt) and the smallest (0.75 qt).

Good bowls, very light.

I really like these bowls so far. Lightweight (much lighter than expected), highly pourable, makes cooking any meal easy and easy to clean. Made from stainless steel-lined OXO shells, they're featherweight. The only thing I find a little suspicious is their durability as they are just stamped from thin stainless steel. We just have to be careful that they don't hit her too hard. I have to get a second set :)

BEST Kitchen and Dining Bowls

These really are the best bowls ever. I found them after browsing America's Test Kitchen that they were the best mixing bowls (forget if it was stainless steel or not). In any case, they are clean, light and work with liquids as well as dry. They are easy to hand wash and are small enough to be dishwasher safe. Lived normally until the freezer. Good sizes. I will say sometimes I need a size larger than the 5 quart but they have a few larger options aside from this set which I also boughtโ€ฆ

Signs of corrosion on the bottom of the bowl

Three arrived well packaged with some minor scuffs on the sides of the bowl. I would guess that they are pressed to the mold or by transport and movement relative to each other. In one of the bowls I mixed vegetables, cucumbers, tomatoes, olive oil and vinegar. The salad sat in the fridge for 10 minutes and out for another 40 minutes. After washing the bowl, I noticed small dots on the bottom of the bowl as shown in my picture. Wasn't washed off, wasn't erased with an abrasive. I'm a littleโ€ฆ

Great bowls for the price will probably last forever.

I don't care at all about my kitchen appliances and I cook for a large family every day so stainless steel bowls work best for me and they are good quality for the price. They're a little flimsy so they wrinkle easily, but that's why they're the economy version. Considering the price difference, I'm okay with the fact that they're thin. The steel is just as high quality as regular Vollrath products, even if it's a bit thinner. Other brands of cheap stainless steel bowls just don't play in theโ€ฆ

Perfection in its simplicity

Like many others, I chose these bowls on the recommendation of America's Test Kitchen. They're the ideal weight, have just enough edges to be easy to hold without interfering with pouring, and are strong. I admit that there are many other shells that have the exact same specs, some of them may cost less money, some more. After ordering I saw some of these at a local specialty store where I was able to pick the exact size I wanted. I regularly cook for a large group so the largest bowl isn't asโ€ฆ

Favorite Mixing Bowls

Lightweight and convenient for taking a whole stack out of the cupboard with one hand at any height, unlike glass, ceramic or some of the thicker metal bowls. Nice wide opening for easy visual inspection and easy to use on tall countertops (especially when they're as low as I am). Also works great when double boiled or dunked in an ice bath and quickly chilled due to the slim design; pours beautifully with minimal drips with a smooth, rounded lip. Sure, it's not a heavy, ultra-thick heirloomโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Black marks, dents and scratches

I'm still shocked at what I received. First of all, the largest bowl (5 litres) arrived with two mini dents and was badly smashed due to poor packaging. The seller did not pack the goods before sending them. It arrived looking like an army of cats thought it was a notepad. They also arrived with lots of BLACK SPOTs and SPOTs. Something I don't want to have in my food that is potentially toxic. Finally VISIBLE SEAMS. Did you forget to put a finishing touch on them? Not only could you see themโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Only available in black

Very good mixing bowls

Update 11/25/2020 - I've been using these bowls for about 2 years now and I'm still very satisfied. They have held up very well to long use and continue to be a valuable addition to the kitchen. ---- I've been using these bowls for a few months now and absolutely love them. They are lightweight, easy to clean and ideal for storage. Contrary to some other reviews, their light weight doesn't worry me about their durability. Steel is both light and strong. That's Steel's idea. I'm not sure what on
