I bought a small for my 7lb Maltese - neck 9, chest 14, length 13. I was expecting the neck to be a bit larger but the chest was too big and the length was about 6 inches behind her tail. I was able to buckle the chest strap to fit, but the jacket was too bulky at the time. If you can get one that fits, it will be a good jacket.

So far, so good. Fits well. I have a small burly dog and the other coats were too long to fit around his chest. The design of this coat goes well with this one. He pulls it over his head and wraps it around. The hood is detachable which is also good as we don't usually use it. It also curves next to its tail to keep it from tipping over when it wags its tail.

I bought 4 different winter coats and returned them before I came across this one. Some were thin and fragile, while others were too big in the chest but at the same time too short. This one is perfect for my 20 pound dachshund and you can't beat the price. It's thicker than most other coats I've found and is easy to slip on. I love that it can be adjusted because it allowed us to increase the size to be long enough (we have XL)! The hood is pretty useless but it can keep your neck warm.

I have a medium size for my 9 lb chihuahua. I think it fits perfectly - not too tight, not too loose. I can put the vest under her without any problems. Shown without the waistcoat underneath and with the hood pulled back. You can also remove the hood. I think it looks cute when you roll it back. As for the quality, I like it. The material feels waterproof on the outside and soft on the inside, like fleece. This is her first coat and I am very happy with it :)

Love the color, velcro around lower chest, buttons, warmth, waterproof in rain and snow. She seems to enjoy wearing it as the house is cold without it. My only issue with this is that the elastic that stretches from the front of the thigh cover to the back of the seat cover causes a red sore if the coat is left on for too long. Going outside to eliminate is not a problem and clothes stay clean. I recommend, but I will swap out the gum for a less durable one.

I bought XL for my Medium/Large English Pointer which according to the size chart is very thin which seemed odd as my breed of dog never needs XL and the jacket was too small.
