Late delivery. I don't know if I hit the other rivets but this one was black and the original was purple and it fell apart when I hit the rivet. I was removing paint from an old aluminum boat.

It worked, I tried many ways to remove layers of paint from deck railing. That worked best. I didn't give it a 5 because it wears out pretty quickly and the rims are expensive. Passed several of them. Although Amazon had better prices than my local hardware store.

Manufactured for Paint Eater and named accordingly. They wear out with use, so it's a good idea to have a spare or two depending on how much work you have to do. I carried a pair that made about 500 square feet of painted deck. Must be popular because the Lowes were sold out when I tried to find a replacement. So order at least one or two when you buy an instrument!

I have used paint remover on my house and porch and it has been extremely effective. It works better than a rotary sander, belt sander or scraper. After the gasket wore out I bought this replacement gasket and it fits perfectly and works just like the original. I recommend this product for removing stubborn paint.

If you have a lot of paint to remove, buy a Wagner Paint Eater and these pads. This is the fastest mass grinding method I've used other than an angle grinder. The pads last a very long time when used correctly. Using the edge of the sanding pad significantly accelerates sanding pad wear. I use this for bulk work and then just go through it quickly with a fine sander. I was really very satisfied with this tool.

While the idea that I can just wipe all the old paint off my 100 year old house sounds like a neat idea, you really can't use these discs that way. If you have several coats of old paint you will either stick the pad or wear it down to the floor fairly quickly. They are best used when you have already done a lot of cleaning and are trying to smooth out potholes. This works well on the underside of lap trim if you do it before it wears out too much.
