Description of Walker 21284 Quiet Flow Stainless Muffler

CORROSION RESISTANT STAINLESS STEEL -- The only broad-market muffler with 100% stainless-steel construction that delivers longer life versus aluminized mufflers while an internal drainage system reduces moisture collection. EASY TO INSTALL -- Direct-fit bolt-on replacement solution with OE-style hangers, brackets and pipe routings for easy installation and doesn't require specialized fabrication and/or welding. BUILT TO LAST -- Internal partitions and mechanically joined tubes allow expansion and contraction during temperature changes to minimize distortion while spun-locked heads and OE-style spot welds provide stability and longer service life. PREMIUM ACOUSTIC CONTROL -- OE-style louvered tubes lower noise levels while OE-style domed heads help reduce radiated noise for premium factory-style sound quality compared to straight perforated tubes. DESIGN VALIDATED -- Acoustic and flow tested for quality OE-style sound you can count on.

Nice and quiet: Spare parts

Because in my opinion it was a bit short. But overall it worked great. A great muffler replacement when you just need a muffler for standard stainless steel pipes. Installed on a 2000 Cavalier with only 9,800 miles on it, only the muffler rusted. You can't be mad after 15 years.

Pros
  • Silencer
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

.don't worry until now

I bought it in 5/2013. Although a bit pricey, it looks and works well. The selling point for me was 100% rustproof. When I dropped the exhaust system to fix the cat I noticed that the top of the muffler was starting to rust internally and the side was chipped! Hm? Doesn't look like stainless steel. Well 3 years is a good run I guess. (April 9, 2016)

Pros
  • Spare parts
Cons
  • Almost never

I hope it's better than the $45 Walker muffler listed.

Slightly slipping exhaust pipe which I also bought from Revain 3-4 years ago. I was able to use the same old belt and clip with some lube and DW40. I bought a cheaper Walker muffler 3-4 years ago that looked the same on the Revain but it's rusted, I hope it lasts longer for a 2004 Chevy Cavalier with 190,300 miles. A small problem: REAR EXHAUST AFTER THE MUFFLER IS A LITTLE SHORT.
