There are pluses and minuses, think before you buy.

I took 2 pieces, the first one was silent, the second one crackles, as if the head is moving on small files. And if in normal work this does not affect anything, then when watching BD films from 40GB from it, freezes occur. In principle, I don’t care to take a backup and a torrent downloader, but on large video files, the disk queue reaches 3 seconds, it’s problematic to watch mega-heavy files from it; this is only observed in films with simple copying, everything is normal. Weird disk. Right…

Pros
  • Thin Low consumption falls asleep
Cons
  • crackles, as if the head is moving on small files.

Absolutely unusable product, not suitable for use.

Some problems with the electronics, it seems that there is not enough power, the disk is not visible either in the BIOS, or in the device manager, or in disk management, or in Explorer. This is the third drive, the other two continue to work properly in laptops. Player. Ru does not recognize the marriage, accuses me of a breakdown.

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

As for wheezing and squeaking, as they write here. Gentlemen, this is a mechanical disk. and inside there are moving parts, a carriage. Mechanics are always noisy . because. the carriage moves, the disks spin. This is normal. Do you want silence? - Buy an SSD. Its pros: Good storage screw as a secondary drive, enough space for most. Has cons: As a system one, it won't work . slow compared to an SSD. Given that this is a mechanic, there are no cons.

Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

Many write about the frequent parking heads. She really is. And with the help of wdidle3, alas, it cannot be solved. I use the disk as a storage for large files. It is better to immediately format the disk for the required file sizes with a large cluster size. In order not to wear out the disk resource, I turn it off through disk management in Windows 11 (right-click on start, and then, as in the screenshots, select "offline" for our disk, when not using it, to turn it on, we do the reverse…

Pros
  • Very compact, capacious and cheap (4299r.)
Cons
  • Head parking. Now, probably, the price is also (I took it for 4299. With plus points I went for 3000.)

I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

excellent very compact disk (thickness is just like a sheet of paper after 3.5) the speed when copying data from the previous disk was up to 107 mb / s I almost can’t hear it from under the table (the previous very old wd 3.5 grunted loudly enough) the only negative is the seller. the disk was sold in OEM packaging, it was not even wrapped in a little bubble wrap for delivery.

Pros
  • very thin, compact disc quiet good speed
Cons
  • package

Nothing special, there are positive and negative sides.

There was an idea to make an external drive myself from a low consumption internal drive and a USB 3.0 enclosure. It turned out that after a long recording of data in random sectors, the disk in the background starts to overwrite something itself. These are the very grunts that other users are talking about. This behavior significantly affects not only the further speed of SEQUENTIAL writing, but also, as I remember now, even reading (the latter is not observed with other disks). Apparently…

Pros
  • + Good volume (2TB) + Good SEQUENTIAL read and write speeds (peak up to 120 megabytes / sec) + Small height for such a volume (about 7mm) + Low current consumption - you can try to connect via USB + Good value + Suitable for storing large files (such as movies)
Cons
  • - Tiled recording technology (SMR), as a result - a strong drop in write speed and, as I recall, even READ speed after a long write of random data blocks (more details in the comment) - Therefore, not very suitable for downloading torrents, writing small and medium files, defragmenting (like many modern SMR drives)

The item is average, not sure if it's worth the money.

The warranty ended in April 2022. He died in December. Lived for 2.5 years. It is not enough. Used as a second screw in a laptop (MSI GT60-0ND). System on ssd. The second is the same sitting in the DVD tray, but a year younger. Recording on it is not so intense, maybe it will live longer. Do not chase volumes for notebook systems. Take an ordinary CMR disk for a gig. It will be more reliable.

Pros
  • Volume. That's all.
Cons
  • SMR disk. No matter what anyone says, this is the main drawback that generates the rest of the problems.

1st good 2nd junk

This is the second one I've bought from this seller and the first one was great no problems but the last one wasn't brand new. It had a PS 4 system on it and I couldn't get it to work on my laptop. I even took it to a professional and he said the files are corrupt and it doesn't even format properly. He suggested I send it back to get another one or get my money back which he intends to do.

Pros
  • Internal Hard Drives
Cons
  • Price piggy bank

Great buy for general storage and backup

Whether you need portability or want/need to save desk space, this drive is a great choice when paired with a USB 3 enclosure for lots of extra storage, backup, or both . Not as fast as an SSD but good enough for HD streaming (for example), an HDD has a much higher price per gigabyte/terabyte. You can hear the disks "humming" but there is no disk access noise - at least not on the unit I got. read benchmarks. I have this drive in an OWC Mercury Elite Pro Mini.

Pros
  • Data storage
Cons
  • Flimsy

Seemingly reliable maximum-capacity hard drive for a laptop

So far, everything is fine with these 2TB drives. I bought two because both of my 1TB hard drives were almost full. The old 1TB was 7200 RPM and these are only 5400 RPM, but there was no noticeable drop in performance. The 1TB (which I still use) are Hitachi TravelStars, made in the facilities of Hitachi Global Storage Technology, which Hitachi acquired from IBM, and they're premium amenities. Since then, WD has acquired Hitachi and consolidated all Hitachi products under the WD label. If WD…

  • Electronics
Cons
  • There are doubts
