Absolute trash of ceiling fans and accessories

Poor quality mounting bracket, bulky construction, outdated and cheap remote control, poorly designed blades making the air choppy and noisy and dimming the light. I have already replaced one of them with a cheaper and better fan.

very very quiet but weak

This DC fan is very quiet and we can sleep with it and it has lasted about 2 years; However, don't expect it to light up a room. 13w CFLs are weak, we've found 12w LEDs which are bright but they don't work in enclosed fixtures - we're still looking for bright LEDs that meet the requirements: Type T with E26 base and 13 W less (this is the advertised maximum fan power). Again very quiet: and affordable.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Looks nice and quiet but you can't use the light switch to turn the lights on and off and the remote controls don't work well (you have to point it at the fan and press the button multiple times before it responds, even after multiple resets and trying a different frequency). Westinghouse should have reported that the light switch didn't work before I bought it (it's not mentioned anywhere - neither in the instructions nor in the details on the website) and not after I paid the electrician $200

Pros
  • wide range
Cons
  • too dumb

Super Quiet Ceiling Fan "DC Motor "

I've had one for a few months now and we have loads of them! I first bought a Home Depot ceiling fan with Quiet Technology Plus. It was difficult to install, and squeezing the remote receiver into the fan housing was inconvenient. Unfortunately after all this work it buzzed and wobbled so I sent it back. I've been researching DC motor technology for a while and they seemed expensive, but since "silence" was a priority I took the leap of faith and paid another $100 to get these. I'm so glad I…
