Quality Control Issue

Should have returned this on arrival. The box was previously opened and sealed with tape. It's my fault for not checking carefully before proceeding. After making a rod for this holder, I tried threading the included nut onto the stud, only to find that the nut was too big for the threaded stud. I screwed it onto the bolt normally, but when tightening the nut loosened due to the size. The project is currently on hold which may result in the fitting of a new tire etc. Quality control is a…

Good fuse holder ANL

This is a standard size ANL fuse holder. It's plastic, so use it where it's unlikely to withstand heavy impact. I like that you can see through it so you can easily check the fuse without opening the case. I am planning to install it on the auxiliary battery array I am making for a UPS and it will be installed away from any crash area. The product image shows a translucent blue case. Mine came along with it as I show in the photos uploaded. It's not a problem for me at all. In fact, I prefer…

The lid won't stay open

You'd think there was some sort of lock to hold the lid. no Small cutouts do not have a locking mechanism; They just slide in and out without jamming. What is the idea of WindyNation? I don't feel like going back and waiting a few more days so I'll be using the tape for now. If the fuse blows, all I have to do is unwrap it and then reattach it. If you are looking for an ANL backup, there is a cheaper alternative that might work better. Upon further investigation I found that you squeeze the lid

One holder + two fuses, NOT two fuse holders.

First of all the description says that the kit contains two parts. This led me to believe that you have two fuse holders. You are not. It comes with a holder and two fuses. The description in the title should be clearer as for this price I can buy exactly two identical fuse holders. Second, they sent me a used product even though I paid for a new one. The fuses have fingerprints and the plastic case has scratches. Since I need it now and it's still usable, I'll have to live with it. Third, the…

Update - not good for 3000w inverters - got hot and melted.

Rating updated on 08/25/2021; Testing at my shop prior to installation on our Transit RV build and the 4/0 wire to/from this fuse heated up to over 200 degrees and ran a 150 amp test for 10 minutes. After testing my wires and crimps, I replaced that ANL fuse with a 400 AT fuse. Although this fuse may be rated for 300 amps, it cannot handle 300 amps in any way. Very dangerous and so happy I tested in a safe environment where I could switch off quickly. Previous review: We are using the 300A…

Might start a fire

I fitted a new solar system to my camper van and it was installed between my positive rail and my line to the batteries to ensure my batteries would not go bad in the event of an over voltage / short circuit. We used a lot of current from our inverter to charge our battery (our inverter charges at 100A), which was well below the 250A backup rating. I went outside and smelled the plastic/electronics on fire and traced it to my front panel to discover that the fuse had melted its own case. All of
