My sofa has a wider armrest that can be used as a cushion. It's almost as wide as a table, but it can fit. I can imagine that it works better with a narrower armrest. With my kids running onto the sofa, it jumped out and fell to the ground many times. 2 side panels fell off but I just nailed them back and still use them. Surprisingly pleasant. The quality is good, not outstanding. I ordered two, the first was good, the second had some imperfections on the wood. It looks like there are problems with the paintwork. I have dark black/cherry wood and one thing that bothered me was 4 screws, two on each side - they were all gold. Something that would look better if they were black. The good news were the hinges.
