We used to cover our kennels (on the enclosed patio) with a large blanket during the day to keep them cool when it was hot and warm when it was cold (it's rarely very cold in California) , but often ripped off the covers and dragged him across the yard. We purchased a 36" X-Zone indoor/outdoor PET crate lid to fit our MidWest Life Stages single door crate (Model #1636, 36 x 24 x 27 ). First let me say this. This is a VERY WELL MADE drawer cover. The material feels solid, the zippers are solid, and the velcro straps are properly aligned and stitched well.
