I've had it running for over a month now. Works very well. The plastic inlet and outlet are a bit flimsy as other reviews have mentioned, but with care it's fine. My fish seem to like it too. They like to play with the flow it creates. Best of all, it's virtually silent.

I have a Sunsun on my 100 gallon tank and I have this for my 35 gallon tank. You are the greatest! You only need to clean and change the filters every few months with a tank full of fish. I highly recommend if you love your fish but not all the service. My cichlids are very happy and have great water.

Worked well when first purchased but with each cleaning and reassembly the filter deteriorated. I had to wash it several times after each cleaning to keep it from leaking. It won't stop flowing this last time, and it's not just a drop. It spills around the seal. I can't find replacement parts anywhere, like the o-ring. The filter was bought ten months ago. Very disappointed.

The only thing you need to know is that inside there is an inlet and an outlet. The position for the outlet is the same as the hole in the filter basket. If you don't align them properly it will not seat properly on the gasket, it will leak and possibly many of the problems I've read about in previous reviews. The only problem is that it's not listed in the instructions at all. While it operates silently, it has good filtering ability, but with no flow regulator.

This canister is rated at 18 watts, not energy efficient! Easy to assemble. I don't know why some are complaining about the water collector, the nozzle is adjustable. The canister comes with a media filter only. I didn't have any problems filling it up. All connections seem tight. The canister motor is very quiet. Once I got used to HOB filters I never felt the need to spend extra money and time on a canister filter. However, I have read that canister filters are much better for planted aquariums as they don't disturb the water surface causing CO2 loss. This canister is way better than I expected for $60. The fittings in the tank are cheap thin black plastic which is the only poor quality part of this product. It doesn't matter - everything looks great in the tank (easy to hide) and 100% functional.
