Installed on Envoy 5.3. 1/2 of the currency recommended for the vehicle. I used the lift and after 45 minutes I was able to remove the front left plug. A truck chassis would provide much more room to work.

Installed block heater in December 2017 on my wife's 2003 Chevrolet Z71 Suburban 180k. The installation took about 40 minutes in total. No more long waits or exhausting idles on those terribly cold mornings. It's nice to feel the warmth of the ventilation so soon. Used on a 2004 Chevy 2500HD Silverado LT with 8.1L engine. First, make sure you have the right tools - a 1/2" 17mm hex driver to remove the brass plug from the cylinder block. The brass plug is then located on the driver's side near the front of the engine. Use a long 1 /2.2 (more than 15") to get to the plug. It's very easy to get to once you find it. The build quality of this product looks very good. The threads were pre-applied with sealant which was a nice plus. The plug has a good positive connection to the heating element.
