Basic food for my birds. Many years ago a vet recommended nutritious nuggets if I wanted them to be healthy and live long - my two budgies are over 10 years old (sorry I didn't write down when I got them) and sing all the time. She, a veterinarian, said the seeds are unhealthy foods that lead to malnutrition and early death.

Bad smell when I opened it. Offered it to my bird thinking it was just a smell. He put a lot of effort into eating it, so thanks to the company for that. But he couldn't even pass a piece and after several attempts gave up. I can't figure out how or if I can get a refund...looks like an old product and possibly false advertising.

My parrot only eats this parrot food! She prefers smaller pieces. I love that this one is food coloring free and more natural. This food helps her live longer. She was diagnosed with fatty liver a while back but this food really helped her. She used to be on a seed diet and is very picky about what she eats, but I've managed to gradually switch her to this diet. She's been at it for years.

Both my parrots and pigeons love this product. Personally, I choose the "natural" variety, otherwise my birds choose the colors they like best. But with a natural color product, everything is the same color, so it's eaten evenly in all directions. My birds eat this as a main part of their diet with a small amount of seeds. You get a good product for the money. It has become a staple for the birds in our home.

Update. I just bought a second bag of this budgie food and the bag arrived cut. It was still in the sealed mailer, but the product bag itself was cut open and all the pellets were poured into the sealed mailer. I will look for another seller of this product. I love the fact that these pellets contain the vitamins, minerals and nutrients my birds need. They don't care about the taste, however, and won't eat the pellets until all the other seeds have been eaten. They then eat from sheer hunger! I

My parrots came from a pet store where they were fed all seeds. After some research I found that this is not ideal and the seeds should be used with caution to avoid the fat lover's disease. I ordered these pellets for her as a healthier daily option. I was worried they wouldn't eat the pellets as they are used to the seeds but they loved them straight away. I was able to eliminate seeds completely from my daily diet without any problems. Now they only enjoy the seeds as a special treat…
