SD cards are used by a lot of smartphone owners to increase the amount of storage space available on their devices. I have learned the hard way that you should not follow in my footsteps, so please don't! It is recommended that you pick the option to "Only save files and photos" and configure your camera to save both still images and moving images to the SD card. I messed up multiple memory cards by using the "Expand device memory" setting on the smartphone. The memory of the device was enlarged, of course, but after a few months, an error that I couldn't understand blocked the memory card, and all that had been recorded on it was deleted. Even if the memory cards were different brands like Samsung and Kingston, and even though the cellphones were the same brand like Samsung and Xiaomi, the outcome was still quite disappointing.
