I have a Sky Redline and I got pretty hot downtown. When I noticed that the turbo model had a control module mounted on the fan, I assumed that was the problem. GM doesn't sell the module without the entire fan assembly, which is very expensive. After poking around the internet for hours I found out that someone on the forum had mentioned that it looked exactly like the control module on their crown and they were sure it was the same part. I thought it was worth it given the low cost of this aftermarket controller made for Ford at around $18 or so. I swapped out the controller a year and a half ago, they are completely identical to the GM OEM units, and it saved me a lot of money.
