Review on πŸ“€ 2013 Model LG Electronics BP330 Wi-Fi Blu-ray Disc Player by Jason Lockwood

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It was great until after 2 weeks it stopped working!

This is my first Blu-Ray player and I have to say it worked great for the first 2 weeks. It's small and easy to connect: just a power cord and HDMI. The downside is there's no other option so I couldn't connect it to my surround sound system. It accepted my Wi-Fi with no issues and I streamed Pandora and watched movies galore with no issues until this morning it stopped doing nothing at all. At first it wouldn't close after removing the disc, so I helped it close manually (by pressing it). The LG logo flashed on the screen but then went black. Tried the power cord and HDMI. Still nothing. I called 800# on top of the player and someone answered pretty quickly. After playing a silly game to see if you checked this wire and that wire and if you have power, I told her the damn thing works fine to date and it's not the damn wires! But I replaced my HDMI from my working cable box just to be sure. She said it was under warranty and they would give me prepaid shipping labels and fix it within 7-10 days (4 weeks max). I like the player and I'm glad that LG will take care of it. Hopefully, but I'm disappointed that it broke so quickly! I've almost never had a consumer electronics failure, especially one this fast. I even threw the box away the same day because it worked and usually continues to work unless I break it. It's so weird that this thing broke on its own after 2 weeks. I should have listened to other reviews and avoided this player. Now I have to contact FedEx, submit this POS and wait for a new one. Thanks LG, I'm glad.
