Review on Seaflo 100PSI Self Priming Diaphragm Pump Rough Plumbing by Stuart Dunn

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The pump quickly failed

I built an automatic watering system for my wife's houseplants and bought her this 24V DC pump. I hooked it up to a 24VDC power supply of the correct amperage, ran it through an appropriately rated relay with a timer, and tested the assembly. It worked great! But it didn't last long. The self-priming feature on this pump failed after about 5 cycles and the water stopped picking up water with a simple 1 foot lift from the reservoir to the pump. I then contacted Seaflo through their website and asked for technical advice on troubleshooting the pump. There must be something wrong with it and it could be fixed and I'm an experienced technician and wanted to find out and keep using this product. However, there is no response from Seaflo. I will no longer buy Seaflo pumps. Thanks for the ugly paperweight, Seaflo! ---Update, after a few weeks I fixed the pump and it's working again. Not sure what killed the self-priming feature. Everything disassembled, reassembled and started again.
