I went back and forth on my evaluation - counting from three to five. I tend to look on the bright side. My final decision is explained below. As a portable monitor - very good - good picture, very portable. Some people here have complained about the stand, I haven't had any problems. It has a very compact design for easy portability. Easily fits in a bag with a laptop. Bought this monitor for two functions. When I'm at home I like to use it as a second monitor to my desktop. He's great at that. With my setup I had to order longer cables, but everything works fine. I also used it as a second monitor with my laptop. And there it works perfectly again. So as a monitor it's a five. A few more pluses - the packaging is very impressive. I'm not usually a fan of packaging, but I was impressed when I opened the box. I just felt that the packaging was well designed and made a great presentation. Now for the not so good ones. remote control first. I love the fact that it has a remote control - the remote is more for adjusting the monitor settings, which is a great alternative to the two cryptic navigation buttons that many monitors have. At first I thought the remote control was defective. It didn't work and I tried changing the batteries etc. I eventually figured out that the remote sensor is in the bottom left corner of the monitor and you have to be very precise to point the remote to the exact right spot to work. Once I figured that out, everything worked. Since I will most likely rarely use the remote control, I don't see this as a major disadvantage. But there is one big minus - the instruction (as it is) is TERRIBLE. It's one of those giant folded sheets of paper trying to cover eight different monitor models in two different languages with a series of panels scattered across the paper in a seemingly random way. The random panels are so poorly written that it's difficult to extract useful information from them. I've seen poorly written manuals before, but I think this one takes the crown. For all the effort they put into the beautiful packaging, they could have spent some money making a useful guide. I actually got more information from the product description page here on Revain than I did from the manual. GStory has a website, but all of their newer monitor models (including the 8 described in the manual) are nowhere to be found. had to) for the monitor to work, it really is a five star monitor. A manual battle is fought only once, and then you live in the bliss of a portable monitor.
