My office is quite far from my Wi-Fi router and I can't move the router any closer. So I had two choices: pay an extra $100 or more for a more powerful router, or replace my laptop's Wi-Fi adapter. Well, it is clear that this Wi-Fi adapter option is much cheaper and more convenient. It replaced the original old Lenovo WiFi adapter. Now the signal is much more stable and stronger. I confirm that this adapter will work with the Lenovo ThinkPad T420s model 4173. Please note that by default the Thinkpad BIOS only allows the installation of "approved" devices. These "approved" devices are listed in the BIOS whitelist. So you need to use custom BIOS with remote whitelist --- search for "whitelist remote BIOS T420s sovem"
