Review on πŸ’» Dell UltraSharp 30 PremierColor LED Monitor with HDMI - 73GTT, 60Hz by Tommy Kazhama

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High-quality calibrated 30-inch color display right out of the box.

I'm a big fan of Dell monitors, but I haven't had a 30 inch Dell monitor in a long time. I once had a Dell 3007WFP that was my main office monitor for years. It was DVI. -D (Dual Link) and required Apple's special $100 Dual Link DVI adapter which was buggy and always caused problems even with a powerful MacBook Pro. My 2015 MacBook Pro model has no power issues with Dell's new 30-inch UP3017 display. , I connected a DisplayPort cable and it just worked. Picture quality is excellent and color reproduction is great right out of the box. It also works with the latest Dell SoundBar, which I removed from my 24" monitor and placed on top of this display to get decent sound without cluttering my desk. The monitor has multiple (4) USB 3 ports, DisplayPort and HDMI inputs and is very durable. It's heavy and stable on my desk. It is adjustable up and down and also rotates left to right. I installed it on a stand in my home office and it works great next to the TV I have on the wall. Really great workstation My only disappointment with the monitor is the very thick (nearly 1 inch) plastic bezel. Other 24-, 25- and 27-inch displays from Dell now have ultra-thin bezels, but this one immediately looks like a 10-year-old monitor. It doesn't bother me that much, it's still a great monitor, but for a $1000+ monitor you'd think they would slim it down a bit.

Pros
  • β€ŽUltraSharp 30 monitor with PremierColor technology
Cons
  • Dead Pixels: These are defective pixels that remain black or glow solid on the display.
