Review on 🚙 Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Suspension Kit (57396) by Andrew Mclemore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Difficult to install

Firstly, when I had an air leak problem in one of the bag ports, the Air Lift team was very quick to respond to my issue. For that I give them 5 stars. A few parts (screws and washers) were missing but I have an assortment. Installation times are greatly underestimated by some browsers. Unless you have a full lift to get under the truck and access hard-to-reach screws and bolts, plan on spending days installing it. You lie on your back on a slider, crawl back and forth under a truck, rummage around for parts and tools, re-read the instructions trying to figure out which "M" screw to use, and you put off installation for hours. I'm pretty good at mechanics and have been turning wrenches for 60 years, but this installation took a full day. If you don't like lying on your back and working in tight spaces, ask your local workshop to do the installation. It should be noted (though not in the instructions/fitting sheet) that removing the driver's side rear bumper is the only way to reinstall the assembled airbag. Update in 2 days. An airbag could not withstand 6.5 psi of air pressure overnight. Check the connections again for leaks and find no bubbles at the connections. Reinflated the airbag to 7psi and after 2 hours the air pressure was 0. This time reinflated the airbag to 30psi and checked the fit again. No leaks in the fittings (hoses) but the fitting at the head of the airbag was bubbling despite being tightened. Unfortunately, this means the airbag will need to be replaced (probably means another lengthy replacement removal and installation. Update on the replacement process. When I removed the airbag and placed it on the workbench, I inflated it to 20psi and checked for bubbles. No leaks were found until I moved the swivel fitting to the top of the bag when air bubbles appeared where the swivel fitting was compressed 90 degrees.
