My daughter got a tail for her birthday and we soon decided that its half gallon tank wasn't enough and upgraded it to this tank. It felt stylish but was small enough to carry around for cleaning and water changes and was a decent product for the money. On the first night in his new tank, our poor veiltail got stuck in the spot where the suction cups hold the filter to the tank (there's also a short power cord in that spot), and by morning we found that his dorsal fin had been ripped off. . So unfortunately this tank has to go back to Revain. I'm still giving it three stars because it could be a good tank for a different species of fish or betta (or maybe less active male bettas with shorter fins?). However, this will clearly not work for our little friend. However, we only used natural plants (washed and transferred from an old tank) in our aquarium and when setting up this aquarium we added a SpongeBob decoration. The filter seemed soft enough that our betta didn't care. This created little currents because he had to swim after eating (but I think he liked this feature because he seemed to be eating a few more pellets than usual during that particular feeding). On the contrary, it seems that it was his curiosity about the filter that got him into trouble.
