I've used butyl tape occasionally for 25 years. Butyl tape is at the heart of the RV industry and I hate the love for it. For those of us with an RV/trailer/5. Rad we know how cheap RV companies are to build things when they can literally save a penny. I don't think the RV industry uses this stuff as a de facto standard, but they really should. I love how sticky the stuff is and for the most part really doesn't work when it gets hot like some other junk out there. I'm in Arizona so I know HOT! I hate to ever think about taking off things I've used this thing on, life sucks when you have to. I keep a small amount, about 10-15ft, in my trailer for emergency roadside repairs if I ever need them.
