Review on πŸ”ͺ ESEE Knives Izula: Ultimate Survival Knife Set with Kit, Sheath & Clip Plate by Jacob Ashman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great light all-purpose knife.

Bought this knife as a parting gift. The new owner will be backpacking for a month and it seemed like a solid item. I'm a fairly experienced hiker/tourist and have done a little research and this knife is recommended by many hikers and climbers as well as some survivalists. Knives: Solid construction, good weight, well balanced and durable. The edge is more than adequate straight out of the box and I would have no problem taking it out of the box on a hike. Some users have recommended sharpening the knife before use and that would probably be ideal, but the factory edge shouldn't disappoint. The blade is not stainless steel, so you will need to oil it after use and periodically. to prevent oxidation. The neck knife comes in handy because you can quickly rotate the blade without worrying about opening/closing it. The skeletonized handle is great for detaching and when you wrap it in paracord it looks and feels really cool. As for the knife itself, ESEE has a winner. I prefer my Cold Steel or Benchmaid but for 1/4 the price this knife is fantastic. Bundle: For an additional $10 you can get a "set" and I called it loose as that was the only disappointment with the purchase. . I've replaced the paracord with a better quality cord (with cord, twine, and fire cord inside) and the o-rings, whistle, and other components are somewhat useless. Every traveler/tourist will surely have a better whistle. Conclusion: I would definitely buy this knife again. Actually, I could buy one soon. However, do yourself a favor and just buy one knife and invest $10-12 in better quality paracord to wrap the handle. You will be much happier.
