Review on Sight Glass Spigot for Travel Berkey and Big Berkey Systems by Daron Ellis

I bought this to replace the stock faucet so I can see how much water is in the lower tank without having to remove the upper tank. Works as it should. It was easy to install and now I know how much water is in the bottom tank by looking at it. Now for the not so good ones. Got up the next day and there was a little puddle on the kitchen table. A quick check to see where the leak was coming from and I found that the water level in the bottom tank was getting higher as I filled the top tank before going to bed. then the top of the sight glass. Since there is a vent at the top of the sight glass, the water escaped through it. It's okay, I just have to remember that you can't fill the tank that high from now on. It may be a good idea to get the next largest Berkey gauge so that the top of the sight glass is higher than the meeting point of the upper and lower basins. I could call Revane and trade it in for the next larger caliber.
