I wish I had bought it 8 years ago!

Better quality than the case that came with the Berk. Very happy with this purchase. I've been using the Berkey for 8 years now without this spigot, wish I'd bought it a long time ago! It hasn't leaked and we haven't had any other incidents. I highly recommend!

Don't take Burke without it!

sight glass helps a lot. I've crowded Berkey twice before, but that's because I wasn't paying enough attention. I know the sight glass has prevented many, many spills. It works great and was easy to install. We tried using the hardware that comes with Berkey and its Spigot, but you really have to use the hardware they ship with it. (They really knew what they were talking about! Find out. :)

An essential accessory for the Big Berkey

The sight glass allows us to see at a glance how much water is in our Big Berkey. You must be careful not to overfill the Big Berkey as there is a small hole at the top of the spigot to allow air to escape from the spigot. If you overfill the tank, some water will run out of the spout at the top. The faucet has a good flow of water, so filling even large jugs with water does not take much time. Installation is quick and easy. We had no problems with the pipe leak. Although it's a little pricey,

Buyers beware, it can fail.

Purchased in March. In the beginning it worked great. No problem and we could see the water level so we knew when to fill the berks. It's June, about 90 days later. Started leaking a week or two ago. No matter how high the water level was in the Burke, the faucet from the spout will flow and continue to flow. I've checked to see if anything has been torn down or moved and I don't see any problems. I have no idea what happened, but I know it must have taken much longer. Thank goodness I kept the

Saves clutter and is worth peace of mind.

Purchased for our Big Burke. It's life saving and prevents mess! It's much easier to read the sensor to determine the level of available filtered water than to lift the lid and look into the upper reservoir. We also marked the caliber in two places; The first or lowest point on the gauge reflects the water level after the tank has been filled with a 1 gallon jug. Once that was filtered I added a second 1 gallon to the tank and marked the nearest point on the gauge to represent the higher point…

Works as it should

I bought this to replace the stock faucet so I can see how much water is in the lower tank without having to remove the upper tank. Works as it should. It was easy to install and now I know how much water is in the bottom tank by looking at it. Now for the not so good ones. Got up the next day and there was a little puddle on the kitchen table. A quick check to see where the leak was coming from and I found that the water level in the bottom tank was getting higher as I filled the top tank…

UPDATE: July 2017 - It's been working great for two years now. It helps to remember to tighten the screw over time - after many months it started to loosen because the gauge sometimes went a little sideways and we straightened it and over a long period of time it loosened. slightly rear bolt. Easy enough to tighten when replacing MTBE/Fluoride filters. The only other problem is that hard water marks form on the inside of the meter due to evaporation in very hot weather. We have not yet been…

Much better than the original nozzle

I remember the original nozzle was slow to flow because it was very small. It's a lot larger, even if it's the size listed for your specific Berkey (I have a large one). There are fewer problems with leakage than with the original nozzle. Just be careful not to overtighten the nut or overtighten along the bolt as the washer will be pushed completely out of place. I think if I could offer any advice I'd say once contact is made tighten until you see the washer move then back off a few turns…

Fixed leaky bevel washer (not in package!)

I just bought this sight glass fitting from this seller for my Big Berkey. It arrived fine and on time. The package came with a sleeve and a plastic nut with two washers. I read the instructions and also looked on YouTube how to attach this without breaking the nut. There are good instructions on YouTube, but I found that two washers came with this hub, both of which were FLAT. One is slightly thicker than the other, but both are flat. The Berkey instructions I received for the main filter…
