While I have no doubts they will work well as anchors, my neighbor convinced me to use full size anchors in my limestone blocks as they are less likely to break the stone could break and catch the entire length of the handle, not just the last inch. Don't get me wrong, they will do what they are supposed to do, but there was a better option for my application. They have their own space for different uses, but they just weren't the best option for my use. But they rightly advertise that the diameter is 3/8 inch.
