Review on Easy Twist Push Connector Wires Clear Industrial Electrical by Andre Bennett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much better than wire nuts

Exactly what the manufacturer claims. It works with a wide range of solid and stranded wires. The connection is strong. Two spring-loaded spikes hold the wire very firmly on the checker plate. It is important that each wire is fully inserted under both barbs. It may seem a bit tricky to get the smaller strand under the first tip. At least I did the first few attempts. I've found that a very small bladed screwdriver fills in the "funnel" part and keeps the wire from bending. For some reason I don't have to do this anymore. Proper strip length is important and it's shorter than my old habit. They're so easy to use it seems ridiculous, but I practiced with different wire sizes and types, then cut the connectors open to inspect the wire. and connections. It is easy to check visually. With the VOM it is easy to check for continuity and voltage. Is there a negative result? At first I thought the problem was that there is no way to pull the wire out of the connector once it's fully inserted. Finally, I don't want to cut each wire, strip it again, and put it in a new block. I then found that using wire cutters to cut the four support rods at the ends where the wires enter allows the lid to slide off and the two pieces of metal to fall apart exposing the wires. Just use a different port to reconnect and discard the old one. Alternatively, you can use a 3-pin connector if it turns out that you need a 4-pin. Use the same solution to remove the small connector and replace it with the correct size connector. I have tested several connections made with these connectors and compared them to wire nuts (several brands). The connections made with these connectors were the same. This is remarkable with 5 or 6 conductors and even more remarkable when the conductors are of different sizes. I have "fixed" many professionally installed wire nuts that did not grip all conductors properly. The visual assurance that each conductor is fully inserted is very reassuring. This is definitely a big improvement over wire nuts.
