Review on πŸ”Œ Leviton GFNT1-W SmartlockPro Non-Tamper-Resistant Receptacle by Robert Blanton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hard to press reset button

Both outlets I replaced had four wires, two black and two white, plus ground. I connected two new GFCI outlets to line connections only and didn't charge because I didn't want to affect any outlets on the line (disclaimer: I'm not an electrician so connect at your own risk! :) Now I have power at both outlets and the green ones Lights are on so I'm assuming they're working properly. However, the reset button on each is very difficult to press. This caused me a lot of heartache because I thought I wired the sockets wrong when I couldn't press the buttons. I decided to call an electrician to install them. I called five electricians and since their phones didn't answer or they didn't call me back when I left the message I ended up calling a nice overworked electrician who said he couldn't come until next week but pointed out that You have to press very hard to reset the sockets. He said the buttons on the Leviton GRP outlets he'd installed over the past few months were so hard to push that at first he thought they were defective. I thanked him for the advice, tried it and it worked. I screwed the sockets tightly to the wall and used the tip of a wooden spoon to firmly press the reset button. It took some pushing to get it working.

Pros
  • Sleek, low profile design with reduced depth makes installation easier
Cons
  • Doubtful
