In the end, my use of a fat e-bike for road riding revealed the weakness of my favorite profile.

I have literally refrained from using slime sealant or any other type of sealant in my tires for decades. My inner chambers loaded with mucus? Ridiculous. In the end, my use of a fat e-bike for road riding revealed the weakness of my favorite profile. Toffee. Well, Tuffy is underperforming in its super XL iteration and I had to do something about it. So I bit the bullet and used this bottle size (8 ounces) in each of my 26x4.9 tires. How wrong I was It's a miracle. I've put about 5,000 road miles on two fat commuter bikes now in the last 18 months and Slime has fixed literally countless flats. Just yesterday I heard a nasty hiss from my rear wheel, which disappeared after about three tire revolutions. Tire inspection revealed a small dead center notch. It looks like the entrance and exit of a nail. Here's the secret to getting the slime to work: keep going so the tire's rolling centrifugal force allows the goop to fill the hole. About half the time it takes you to stop, pull the nail, and then start driving as fast as you can to fill the hole. - occur. Slime is no wonder, it doesn't always work 100% but I've never *never* been able to ride home other than walking or stopping on my bike and fixing the flat shoulder. I prefer it at home, in the garage, out of the sun and with a fridge a few steps away.
