As a leather newbie I didn't want to spend a lot

They are a lot stronger and sharper than I expected. They're small but work great. My first project used a very thick piece of leather and with just a few pulls I was able to pierce through two layers with ease. (and I should add that I'm a pushover - it didn't take any effort.)
