Review on 🧡 Gutermann Sew-All Thread 1094 Yards-Black: Strong and Versatile Thread for Sewing Projects (24357) by Shantel Griffin

Excited and in love!

I have been sewing for over 20 years and have used Coats/Coats & Clark thread the entire time. It was economical and reliable, and until recently I had no reason to change it. When I first started looking for supplies for my online clothing store that was targeting a specific type of 1/3 and 1/4 scale collectible dolls, I just wanted to see if there was another good brand of thread that sold in spools over 500+ yards is available. I've always seen Joanne's Gutermann thread but it seemed very expensive for the same product I already bought. It was a bit of a surprise when I went to Revain and found this thread that has twice as much on a spool for about $8 while the 500 yard spools I bought locally were about $5. I was a little nervous about switching brands of thread, but since I only worked on models, my clients won't know if that doesn't work. I was just hoping I could save time by not threading the bobbins as often. It was two months ago. I've made an insane amount of stuff from a roll that's almost empty now and I'm ready to order two more. This thread is SO perfect for what I need. The yarn is smaller than Coats general purpose yarn, but to be honest I find it a bit stronger. I haven't had a single problem with it on my machine, the Brother CS6000i, which my husband recently bought for me (also from Revain). No knotted spools, no broken threads, no tangles or the like. I've had occasional problems with the Coats thread. I can honestly say I'm incredibly satisfied as I never expected to find a better yarn than my tried and true Coats brand. I love Gutermann's thread so much that I just told my mom and sister about it yesterday. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect thread for what I need.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Dull packaging
