You may think that cables are easy, but any cable will do. I recommend avoiding this cable. I originally bought it for a MacBook Pro to connect to an external 4k (60Hz) monitor. The picture quality is not very good. The resolution is not 4k. I tried connecting the laptop directly to the monitor or through the connector to the monitor. Image quality may not have been very good due to the lack of a locking 'snap' mechanism at the end of the display port. However, I double-checked the connections and there was no hesitation on either the DisplayPort or USB-C ends. I sent the cable back and used an OEM display port cable to connect the port to the monitor. I have 4k resolution and no graphics issues with the OEM cable. I would avoid this cable and maybe go for a VESA compatible cable.
