I used this to cover the rug that my pup and I spent a lot of time on (I kinda fenced them in with my chair where I work on the computer). Her nails tore through one layer as she went crazy with her toys. I applied a second coat and we managed to keep most of the carpet clean. for 3 long months! But we are all (mostly) potty trained and the protective mat fitted with no problems. [NOTE: I removed the protector after 30 days as advised and regretted it, bought another and reupholstered the rug. and left it there for about 40 days. I don't see any damage or stickiness due to the adhesive]
