I didn't know how to attach them at first. The large rubber pad stimulates thought. I installed mine with the wires on the outside so I just cut the rubber to allow for it. Remember that LED lights are sealed when used outdoors. So tires are just too much. They are bright enough to be mounted in a small area on an 8 foot ceiling. I installed 5 in an 8x20 room. Probably a different style could have been used but this is an outdoor building with no power. A lower mount may be better suited to this type of light.
