We used this for our car plugs in Alaska as it costs too much to have the cars plugged in all night so we just wanted them on for 2 hours before we go to work. Initially this worked perfectly but once it started getting colder, it stopped functioning all together, only working again when the temp got above around -20F. It also only works when the cord is pointing straight down and the device is mounted perfectly vertical (not sure why but we figured that out via trial and error). Will be spending more on something better designed for the cold and that isn't as finicky about being 'level'.
