This device will NOT work with pure CLI (Command Line Interface) settings. It needs a GUI on boot for KVM to recognize the machine. I have a home lab with two FreeBSD machines. I'm on the CLI most of the time. This device does not see the computer after booting. You need to turn everything off, connect the screen and keyboard directly to the computer, charge, and only then connect the cables back to the KVM. Considering this is a lab setup and I'm always testing/rebooting/changing stuff around KVM, this doesn't work at all. I ended up just hooking up a keyboard and mouse and manually swapping out the monitor cable. Contacted support and confirmed this is a known issue for this model. They recommended me to buy another model from them which costs over $300.
