Fantastic grip on steel - I-beams, cabinets, ducts - almost any angle. Love it for my LED lights.
I use this to stick a 4x6 LED panel on metal surfaces for use as a highlight or special effects. No problem handling a sports camera (GoPro etc.) or small lights. It's also non-scratching, so you can stick it on painted surfaces or vehicles. The magnet has a 1/4-20 threaded post. The ball head is one of the better mini-heads I've seen and also has a 1/4-20 post and threaded base.
