This is not a chip. It's a small box with an electrical component called a resistor (which costs pennies in bulk) that you connect to either a coolant temperature sensor or an intake air temperature sensor. The resistance distorts the numbers your engine computer reads from the sensor. You will not see any noticeable increase in performance or fuel economy as a result.
